Meet The Team

Having been an educator for over a decade, Arezoo has collaborated with several schools and post secondary institutes throughout her career. She holds a Master's Degree in English from Concordia University and is also TESOL certified.  Below is her message: 

" As principal , I am happy to welcome you to our virtual high school in Canada. With a team of experienced teachers and professional support staff , we are committed to providing high quality education to our students all around the world.  At Wish High School, we greatly value psychological aspects of education, prioritizing motivation, positive reinforcement and encouragement based on our students' autonomy. We strive to help each and every student to successfully finish high school  and move on to their post-secondary destination of universities or colleges of their choice".

Raised in Toronto, Sherry’s upbringing celebrated diverse cultures that inspired a love for the arts. While studying at U of T, she received an invitation to join the Visual Studies program where she had the opportunity to specialise in her artistic practice. Upon graduating with honours, she led programs helping young people develop their talents at a non-profit dedicated to underserved communities. Thereafter, she continues in her passion as an artist and a formal educator.

Areas of Teaching: Art, ESL, and English.

Tyler is an OCT-certified educator & course developer with 7 years of experience creating & delivering online courses. Tyler uses his wide variety of teaching experience to quickly and professionally build meaningful relationships with students and find ways to create exciting and engaging learning experiences. Tyler has taught and/or developed all secondary-level mathematics courses, intermediate science and senior physics classes, as well as several other humanities, health, and science courses.

 

Areas of Teaching:  Mathematics, Physics, and Science.

" I did my studies at the Ontario Institute for Studies Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, focusing on my research in teaching languages and literacies. As a teacher, I have a wide variety of experiences spanning more than 5 years at different high schools in Ontario and more than 15 years in teaching English in Korea and Canada. With my background as a formerly international student, I am very open to learning different cultures and languages. That is why I like to travel and be exposed to different cultures and new experiences.  I am very excited about having fun with you guys. Hope to see you guys in class soon!"

Shannon Carranco is an investigative journalist , editor and teacher in Toronto, Ontario. Her writing has been published in Canadian outlets like The Montreal Gazette, The National Post and The Globe and Mail. She studied Journalism and Political Science at Concordia University. In 2020, she was nominated for a Digital Publishing Award for her work with the Globe and Mail and in 2021 she and her investigative team at The Fifth Estate won a Canadian Screen Award. Her favourite books are John Steinbeck's East of Eden and Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt.

Areas of Teaching: Communication Technology, Media Studies, Canadian History and Geography.

I completed my PhD and master's degree in Zoology. I have been working as a biology/chemistry teacher for the last 5 years. I love to teach biology and chemistry courses to high school students and I emphasize critical thinking and problem solving, using our science content to develop good evidence-based reasoning and communication

skills. I believe learning should be enjoyable as well as practical and, through different innovative teaching methods, students are sure to achieve their academic goals.

Helia Javan is a Psychology student at Santa Monica College in California, with dreams of transferring to a UC campus soon. From Santa Monica, Helia is building a unique path as a social media content creator, gaining experience in crafting engaging digital narratives. As a dedicated Social Media Manager and content creator at Wish High School, Helia shares educational contents about the school, online learning, educational systems, and study tips.
